Rolateme BV, a sister company of Infra-Lex Ltd is supplying advanced IR technology panels developed by ADAPT Ltd¹ to Stalverwarming nl in partnership with Instal Agro BV, to conduct extensive Broiler free-range trials at 3 commercial chicken barns in The Netherlands.
Above: 3rd trial install commissioned Feb 2018 for 28,000 chickens (1st 28,000 chicken trial installed, Mar 2017).

The underlying goals are twofold:
- Increase animal welfare factor.
- Sustainably and / or energy-neutral heating.
The start of the chicks starts in the upstream nursery. Then the free range inside the barn. And possibly on day 21 the winter garden.
The following points are assessed for these tests:
- Compare broiler chicken values
- Average net weight
- Dropout (mortality) percentage
- Feed conversion
- VC – 1500g netto
- Number of manure days / Growth per day in grams
- Production number (Survival in% x feed conversion = total / by day weight)
- Feed gain per delivered chick
- (Feed costs + chick costs excl. Investment, heating and ventilation)
- Compare energy costs to gas.
- Ammonia kg / NH3 / dp / year
