Following the successful application of the Corner Dri-IR units at various customers, Rainbow Restoration based at The Restoration Centre, The Grip Industrial Estate, Cambridge have continued to explore how the new technology can be used. They have found that the Corner Dri-IRs can avoid a costly strip out for some customer remediation jobs.
For one customer a solid brick wall with a render and skim had become saturated at its base. This is normally a very difficult structure to dry out and often requires a strip down, drying with specialised equipment and then replastering. Having seen the way the corner Dri-IR is able to get heat to penetrate deep into structures Rainbow operatives decided to place a Corner Dri-IR on each side of the saturated wall and monitor drying. They observed steady drying of the structure without any further intervention and successfully dried the structure without the need for any strip down.
